Jokes aside, chances are, even if you’re not aware of country’s latest heartthrob, you’ve heard his voice. After all, the 36-year-old singer teamed up with Ella Langley for their sultry (and a little silly) hit "you look like you love me," which has been flooding the airwaves and our feeds.
The song—and Riley and Ella’s undeniable chemistry while performing it—has become so popular, in fact, that it earned the CMA Award for Musical Event of the Year at the 58th Annual Country Music Awards on Wednesday, November 20. If you tuned in, you got to see the hit in all its glory while Ella and Riley took the stage to perform it for the audience. As compatible as the pair may seem, Ella has confirmed that she and Riley aren’t actually an item. "Riley was probably the first famous person I ever met," Langley told Taste of Country in a red-carpet interview. "He was playing all the same bars I went to, and I played the same bars as him. It's cool to see Alabama people winning!”
Nevertheless, it’s platonic. "We’re not dating," Ella confirmed to the outlet. "We’re just good friends."
Okay, so Is Riley Green single then?
It appears so! While the “There Was This Girl” singer has been rumored to date Make Wake Artists artist manager Sophia Sansone and singer-songwriter Jessica Lynn, it was just that: rumors. As it currently stands, Riley has made no murmurs of a partner, nor has he been seen publicly out and about with any potential love interests.
Who he has been seen with? His mom! As you may have noticed, he was sitting next to his mother in the audience when he stood up to join Ella onstage for their performance. She even put his hat on for him!
He’s also never one to shy away from flaunting his pup, Carl, to the public eye.
