A$AP Rocky was acquitted in his felony assault trial, and his partner Rihanna had an emotional reaction to the verdict.

Just moments after the verdict was announced on February 18, the performer wrote on her Instagram Story, “The Glory belongs to God and God alone. THANKFUL, HUMBLED BY HIS MERCY!”

Rihanna and A$AP Rocky—who confirmed their relationship in November 2020, but have known each other for far longer—are parents to sons RZA, 2, and Riot, 18 months. After the verdict was announced at Los Angeles’ Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center on Tuesday, the rapper also expressed gratitude, per People.

He told the jury, “Thank y'all for saving my life. Thank y'all for making the right decision,” before hugging Rihanna and his family members. Us Weekly shared a video of the moment he ran to Rihanna, “diving headfirst over a partition and into her arms before the pair embraced in the front row of the courtroom,” the outlet wrote.

In a conference later that evening, he said, “I gotta thank God first. And I really want to thank the jury for making the right decision, you know? And I'm just so thankful. This is crazy right now. This whole experience has been crazy for the past four years, but I'm thankful, nonetheless. I'm thankful and blessed to be here as a free man talking to you all.”

If found guilty, A$AP Rocky could have faced up to 24 years in prison.
