Rihanna fans have been waiting a long time for her ninth album, but she’s been busy raising her young family.

The music superstar became a mom in 2022 with the arrival of her and A$AP Rocky’s first baby, son RZA. Less than one year later, they became a family of four when they welcomed another son named Riot.

“[Children] come into the world with their own individuality and sincerity, without any logic or conformity, which usually makes you feel that you must fit into a certain group,” she said during a March 2024 interview with Vogue China. “It’s really beautiful to see and I want to continue to help them navigate that and make sure that they know they can be whoever they want to be. They should embrace it completely, because it’s beautiful, and it’s unique. I love them just that way.”

While the singer has had her hands full with two babies, the Rihanna Navy can take comfort in knowing that she hasn’t completely put her recording career aside. “It’s gonna be amazing,” she told Extra in April 2024 while discussing her next project. “It has to be—that is the only reason it’s not out yet. If I’m not feeling it and I’m not feeling like it represents the evolution, the time I spent away … there should be a show of growth, right?”

Who is the father of Rihanna’s kids?

Rihanna shares both of her children with A$AP Rocky. Musically, the duo first collaborated in 2012 on the remix of her song “Cockiness (Love It),” which they performed at that year’s MTV Video Music Awards. While they continued working together and hanging out for the next several years, their relationship didn’t turn romantic until late 2019.

In April 2024, the “Diamonds” singer noted that her youngest son was growing fast. “Riot is actually in all of RZA’s 1-year-old clothes already. He’s only 6 months,” she explained to Interview. “Everybody thinks Rocky dresses them because I dress them in Rocky outfits.”
