Rhodesian Ridgeback Spreads Pure Joy As 'Happiness Ambassador' for Passengers on the Tube
A Rhodesian Ridgeback has become the "happiness ambassador" for people riding the same tube she's on, and it's pure joy.
On September 14, 2024, Ridgeback Asha (@ridgebackasha) shared a sweet video of the special dog and her ability to connect with humans. Take a look!
In a video posted to Instagram, we meet Asha, a gorgeous Rhodesian Ridgeback who loves people, and people love her right back.

While riding the subway at the London Paddington station, Asha gets pets and ear scratches from a woman who seems thrilled to be giving the dog cuddles. Their bond is even cuter when you realize that this is the first time she's meeting the pup.
The woman, a stranger to the dog who is just on the same ride, gives Asha a gentle pat on the butt, and Asha walks back to her dad, who's behind the camera.
And now that she's closer to the camera, we can see what a beautiful soul she is. Her eyes are so gorgeous and you can see the gentle nature in her face.
The video's caption reads, "Making someone’s day. " In the comments, people complimented this sweet girl so much.
One wrote, "Awww this adorable I’ve an RR called Asha too."
Someone shared, "What a beautiful girl. Spreading joy everywhere she goes."
Another added, "Beautiful dog and a very happy dog."
One wrote, "I coming to London in 6 weeks, hope [she's] on my tube
A TikToker shared, "Awww….so sweet. I need me some of that doggie love, too."
And a lot of commenters hope that they one day get to be greeted and cuddled by this gorgeous dog.
One confessed, "Hope I see her on the tube."
Another shared, "I thought she was that lady’s dog."
Someone else added, "Why don’t I ever seen these beautiful pooches in the tube?"
And another, "Why can’t this happen to me!? All I get is rude people on the tube."
Rhodesian Ridgeback Dogs Are Known for Being Very Friendly
According to the American Kennel Club, Rhodesian Ridgeback dogs are known for being very "lovey-dovey," "good with children," and the three words associated with this hound dog are "dignified," "affectionate," and "even-tempered."
"The formidable Ridgeback can be strong-willed, independent, and sometimes domineering," the club continues. "Ridgebacks must be guided with a firm but a fair hand from puppyhood. They are faithful friends, protective of their loved ones, and meltingly affectionate with those whom they trust."
It doesn't sound like this breed is recommended for first-time dog owners. One reason is that they can be very "strong-willed, independent, and sometimes domineering," the American Kennel Club writes.
"Early socialization and puppy training classes using positive reinforcement are recommended and help to ensure that the dog grows into a well-adjusted, well-mannered companion."
