Reese Witherspoon Fans Bombard Her With Safety Concerns After Eating Treat Made From Snow
Reese Witherspoon at The 29th Critics' Choice Awards held at The Barker Hangar on Jan. 14, 2024, in Santa Monica, Calif.
When Reese Witherspoon posted a tutorial for making a treat made from fresh snow, she had no idea her TikTok followers would be so concerned for her safety. Yet, here we are.
On Friday, Jan. 19, the Legally Blonde star posted a TikTok video to share a tasty-looking recipe using snow from her backyard.
"Snow days were made for Chococinnos❄️☕," she captioned the video.
In the clip, Witherspoon scooped two mugs of fresh snow and brought them inside. She then added salted caramel and chocolate syrups to the mugs, finishing them with some cold brew coffee. Ultimately, Witherspoon declared the concoction a "snow salt chococinno."
Folks in the comments section were wary of how safe the snow is (or isn't) to eat, with one TikTok user writing, "😳 No no no..snow is not made to eat..you can get seriously sick."
Another person commented, "I thought eating snow was like dangerous to our health 😭."
Yet another TikToker requested, "Can you put snow in a clear cup and let it melt I just want to see if it's safe to eat first 😂."
Meanwhile, someone else pointed out, "Fallen snow can be very dirty from the air and wind, But who cares. You only live once. I remember eating snow as a kid.👍🏼"

In a follow-up video, Witherspoon addressed her followers' concerns for her health.
"There's so many people on here saying that snow is dirty," the Little Fires Everywhere actress said. "So we went and took snow from the backyard, and we microwaved it—and it's clear. Is this bad? Am I not supposed to eat snow?"
Many TikTok users reassured her, with one writing, "We survived the rusty hose water of the 1990's summer...how bad can snow be?"
Another commented, "I've had snow ice cream for 34 years and I'm still living 🤣."

"Ok, so we're kind of in the category of, like, you only live once," Witherspoon concluded in another TikTok update. "And it snows maybe once a year here. I don't know. Also, I want to say something—it was delicious."
