The limited-edition kit included all the ingredients necessary—a 9-ounce milk chocolate shell and a 10-ounce jar of Reese's peanut butter filling to be mixed up and added—to create your very own giant Reese's cup nearly 10 times the size of its classic 1.5-ounce cups. And to no surprise, it sold out online almost immediately.
According to a press release shared with Parade, Hershey's released the new addition in honor of National Candy Day on Monday, Nov. 4, and according to a statement added to the official product listing on Hershey's webstore, the exclusive kits "SOLD OUT IN RECORD TIME!"
"REESE'S fans know perfection perfected when they see it. Your overwhelming interest has us thinking...should we bring back this limited-time kit sooner rather than later?!" the brand teased, encouraging fans to sign up to be on Hershey's e-mail newsletter list to be among the first "to know if and when this kit comes back to The HERSHEY'S Store."
The now sold-out DIY mega Reese's cup shipped directly from Hershey's Chocolate World in Hershey, Pa., and is reminiscent of the "Stuff Your Cup" experience customers can have made specifically for them at the original Hershey's Chocolate World and its locations in Times Square, Niagara Falls, Las Vegas and Singapore. So, if you're not looking to take your chances with the second drop and don't mind watching someone build your peanut butter cup for you, consider a road trip to your nearest Hershey's attraction.
