Red Bull Fans Certain Its New Flavor ‘Is Going to Be Good’–but There’s a Big Catch

Loyal Red Bull drinkers rely on the popular energy beverage for their daily dose of get-up-and-go—so the introduction of a new variety is generally treated as a pretty big deal.

That's why Red Bull lovers were thrilled to hear about the new Winter Edition flavor—satsuma—that's sure to be a hit with anybody who likes citrus. But there's one major drawback, which is that it's only available in Japan.

Food blogger SodaSeekers shared a post on Instagram on Wednesday, Dec. 4, which revealed the launch of a satsuma-inspired version of the drink in an orange-colored can.

"Red Bull has launched a new Winter Edition - in Japan! This flavor is based on the popular Japanese citrus fruit also known as a satsuma," the influencer wrote.

Disappointed Instagram users were quick to express their frustration over the new flavor's limited availability.

"I know that’s gonna be good af😭😭😭 we need that here!!!" commented one person.

"Japan had the best stuff," someone else complained.

"Would’ve preferred that in the states too imo," agreed another fan.

According to a review from Saiga NAK, the citrus Winter Edition has a "refreshing tangerine flavor."

"The carbonation is stronger than that of regular Red Bull, but it is not so strong that it sticks in your throat," the review continued. "As for the aroma, it smells a bit like sweet mandarin oranges. It is refreshing and juicy at the same time, with a sweet but refreshing aftertaste."
