Rebel will be razzle-dazzling audiences during an eight week run in the newest revival of the popular 1950s Broadway show.
“Miss Adelaide is such an iconic role and so I thought it would definitely be a challenge because I’ve never done the eight-show-a-week schedule but I was really excited,” she told Reuters.
Rebel is best known for her on-screen role in Bridesmaids and as Fat Amy in Pitch Perfect but she’s excited to be on the stage. The actress says many people don’t realise she did a lot of productions when she trained in theatre school in Australia.
“Most people don’t know, they’re like ‘yeah Rebel’s just like come up in Bridesmaids or Pitch Perfect',” she told Reuters.
Last week Rebel performed her West End debut at London’s Phoenix Theatre and will be performing until August.
Rebel will be filming Pitch Perfect 3 after her Broadway stint, which is set to be released next year.
