This is what it's really like to spend a night with Rihanna

She’s the ultimate pop star; talented, sassy, unapologetically fierce, and now a makeup extraordinaire to boot.

That’s what we all know about Rihanna, but have you ever wondered what she’s really like in person? Well, don’t worry, here at Yahoo Lifestyle we’ve got the intel.

I was lucky enough to attend the top secret one year anniversary event for Fenty Beauty in Sydney, and I feel I definitely got a taste of the true Queen RiRi.

One could even say we’re besties now.

Of course, as one of her closest pals, I’m totally able to understand how busy our bad gal is.

So, while waiting for her to make her grand entrance, I was happy to mingle – a glass of bubbly in one hand, and her new ‘Chill Owt’ highlighter palette in the other.

At around 9pm (which is really quite late for a school night) the queen graced the stage looking f-ah-bu-lous in a snakeskin print mini dress, paired with a matching bucket hat and bag.

Getting down to business, she announced that her Aussie fans would be the first in the world to be able to purchase her new highlighter.

After a couple of champers, it was very exciting news. But seriously, I have to admit if you’re a makeup lover, it really is a must-have.

After the obligatory introductions were done and dusted, RiRi made her way to the dance floor to enjoy a few cocktails and shots.

She was kind enough to order a round, and shouted me a margarita – because, you know, that’s what friends are for.

Being the dutiful makeup extraordinaire she is, RiRi left me to toast to her success while she made the rounds to those in the makeup hotseats.

But of course she never forgot me, and after her schmoozing, good ol’ Rihanna let her hair down at the bar and kept the drinks coming.

I was clearly just excited to be reunited with my BFF. Here’s a series of selfies to showcase that:

Okay, okay. I think by this point you’re probably thinking, what on earth is this girl on about?

I think the inner fangirl in me is just dreaming of an alternate reality where Rihanna is actually my bestie who shouts me champers and likes taking hilarious selfies with me.

Regardless, from what I saw and experienced of her from a 1.5 metre proximity (that’s as close as I could get), she definitely seems like a lovely human.

And not to brag or anything – we did have about a 20 second conversation.

In my best British accent (because I am British FYI), I said, “Hello Rihanna, I hope you’re having a wonderful evening. Would it be possible for me to get a quick selfie, please?”

To which she replied, “Yes of course, give me two minutes.”

Unfortunately, those two minutes came and went without our much-anticipated selfie, but hey, at least she was kind about it.

So, maybe I don’t know what it’s actually like to spend an evening with Rihanna behind-closed-doors, but from what I can see, Bad Gal RiRi definitely lives up to her nickname.

Oh and just a side note, her makeup is the absolute sh*t.
