Rapper Nelly Arrested In Missouri For Drug Possession, Failure To Appear Warrant
Rapper Nelly was arrested early Wednesday morning on charges of possessing ecstasy pills and not having insurance, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The 49-year-old rapper (real name Cornell Haynes II) was leaving the Hollywood Casino in Maryland Heights near St. Louis at around 4:45 a.m. on Wednesday. He was stopped for ID verification by the Missouri Gaming Commission and subsequently arrested for a previous warrant he had for failure to obtain car insurance.

He was also charged with having four ecstasy pills, according to law enforcement records. Nelly was transported to and then released from custody at the Maryland Heights Police Department.
Nelly most recently was the supporting act for Janet Jackson’s tour. Nelly last played on July 30 at the Footprint Center in Phoenix.
No information was available on a court date.
