Quiksilver Women’s Gets Another Life With Velocity Global Brands

Authentic Brands Group, the global brand development and licensing platform, has forged a partnership with Velocity Global Brands for Quiksilver’s women’s.

In 2023, Authentic made a binding offer to buy Boardriders, the parent company of Quiksilver, Billabong, Roxy, DC Shoes, RVCA, Eleent, VonZipper and Honalua for a reported $1.25 billion.

“We are thrilled to expand our partnership with Authentic to bring the Quiksilver women’s line back to life,” said Chris Laurita, co-chief executive officer of Velocity Global Brands. “Through this launch, we will honor Quiksilver’s rich legacy while looking ahead. We will blend surf culture with refined sophistication, bringing the best of the past and future together.

The line will feature boardshorts, dresses, swimwear, T-shirts, outerwear, woven tops, denim, knitwear, fleece and sweaters. Retail prices range from $29 to $110. Quiksilver women’s will be available through select retailers beginning in May. The line will be sold at such stores as Tillys, Zimiez, Academy and Belk, along with Quiksilver.com.

“Velocity has proven time and time again its talent for translating brand vision into standout products,” said David Brooks, executive vice president, action and outdoor sports, lifestyle at Authentic. “We’re eager to work together to drive growth and meet our increasing consumer demand for the Quikslver brand.”

In its previous incarnation, Quiksilver had several forays into women’s. At one point, the Quiksilver women’s line shifted from targeting 19-year-olds to targeting 24- to 34-year-olds and was sold at roughly 1,100 doors in the U.S. and Canada, including Bloomingdale’s and Zappos. The first Quiksilver women’s store opened at the Malibu Lumber Yard in 2012.
