Royal fans think Princess Charlotte looks identical to Princess Diana in new snaps

Kensington Palace released a series of photos yesterday to celebrate Prince William’s birthday and Father’s Day in the UK.

The snaps showed the 38-year-old playing with his three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis at the Cambridge’s Anmer Hall home, however royals fans couldn’t get past one detail in the candid shots.

Princess Charlotte can be seen wearing denim dungarees, with one arm around her gather and the other holding on to a swing in the garden.

And fans think she looks the spitting image of her late grandmother, Princess Diana.

“Princess Charlotte's expression looks the image of her grandmother Diana,” one person wrote online.

Another said: “OMG. Princess Charlottes looks like her beautiful grandmother Princess Diana.”

Others thought it was William who bore a stronger resemblance to his late mother, saying his smile is just like hers.

“What an adorable photo. Prince William is a wonderful man - your mother would be so proud of you,” a fan wrote.

“All I can think of is how proud and tickled Diana would be,” another fan agreed.

Fans were thrilled yesterday after the royal family released a bumper pack of images for the joint celebration.

Later in the day, to mark Prince William’s birthday, Prince Charles, 71, also shared an unseen photo of his son to Instagram.

The sweet image, taken late last year by Kate Middleton, sees the Queen’s heir and his eldest child hug while on a chilly country walk at Sandringham.

Captioning the image, he wrote: “Wishing a very happy birthday to The Duke of Cambridge today!”

One person wrote: “That’s such a great photograph, so sweet.”

Another commented: “Adorable.”

A third shared: “Gorgeous photo.”

Earlier in the day, Charles also paid tribute in another Instagram post to his father, the Duke of Edinburgh, as well as his sons - who are themselves now both parents.

The first image shared was a black and white image of him as a youngster being held by the 99-year-old - alongside his sister Princess Anne in Her Majesty’s arms - taken outside Clarence House in 1951.

A second photo was of the Queen’s son with William as well as Prince Harry at the Cirencester Park Polo Cup in 2004.
