Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi know every royal wedding is not complete without a kiss!

Four years after they tied the knot, Edo celebrated his wedding anniversary on July 17 by sharing a never-before-seen photo from the big day on his Instagram page. The sweet snap shows Princess Beatrice, now 35, and Edo, now 40, kissing as they hold hands in a scenic spot outdoors.

Royal brides and grooms traditionally share a public kiss on their wedding day, but the new photo marks the first look at Princess Beatrice and Edo's smooch. Kate Middleton and Prince William shared two kisses after their April 2011 wedding ceremony from the balcony at Buckingham Palace, following in the footsteps of Princess Diana and then-Prince Charles. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle shared their first kiss as husband and wife on the steps of St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle in May 2018, as did Beatrice's sister, Princess Eugenie, when she married Jack Brooksbank in Oct. 2018.

Edo, a property developer, also included a whimsical image of the Royal Chapel of All Saints at Royal Lodge in Windsor, their wedding venue.

"Happy 4th wedding anniversary my love. 💍," Edo captioned the post. "Every day is so special with you. I love you so much. 💕"

Only a handful of images have emerged from Princess Beatrice's wedding day. Although the event was scheduled to take place on May 29, 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic caused the original plans to be scrapped. In a surprise move, the couple opted to walk down the aisle in a significantly scaled-down ceremony. They exchanged vows in front of 20 close friends and family members, including Beatrice's grandparents, Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip, following pandemic gathering guidelines.

"It was very private, intimate and romantic," a source told PEOPLE. "It was planned for some time, and everyone had to be extremely cautious leading up to the big day because the Queen was in attendance. They had to make sure everyone who was attending was in perfect health."

For the wedding, Princess Beatrice borrowed two important pieces from her beloved grandmother: a vintage ivory Peau de Soie taffeta dress by Norman Hartnell, who designed Queen Elizabeth's own wedding gown, and the Queen Mary diamond fringe tiara, which was worn by Queen Elizabeth on her 1947 wedding day.

A source told PEOPLE that the tiara was "arguably the most sentimental [piece] lent from the Queen yet, for a very special reason," adding that "the Queen saved this grand tiara specifically for Beatrice. It was always reserved for her as they are exceptionally close."

In addition to the official portraits shared by Buckingham Palace, Edo has occasionally surprised his social media followers by sharing never-before-seen photos from their wedding day. He marked their third wedding anniversary in 2023 by revealing two close-up snaps from the nuptials: a photo showing Princess Beatrice's hand adorned by her wedding ring as he holds her bridal bouquet and a look at a floral arrangement that decorated the church.

The marriage made Princess Beatrice a stepmother to Edo's son Christopher Woolf, whom Edo shares with his former partner, architect and designer Dara Huang. Wolfie, as he is affectionately known, served as the best man and page boy at the wedding.

In September 2021, Princess Beatrice and Edo became parents to a daughter named Sienna Elizabeth. "We are all doing well and Wolfie is the best big brother to Sienna," King Charles' niece said in a social media post announcing the news.

Celebrity nutritionist and friend of Beatrice's Gabriela Peacock told Hello! in a story published on April 8, "Bea has such a good heart and she’s such a kind person, so motherhood came very naturally to her; she’s a fantastic mum. She's had Wolfie in her life since she and Edo met and has always been incredible with him. She is extremely nurturing and involved with both kids' lives. It’s lovely to see my best friend growing into this next stage of her life and to share it with her."
