Prince Harry claims Camilla is 'not a wicked stepmother'
Prince Harry has put to bed past rumours of a tense relationship with his stepmother Camilla after openly praising and defending her in a new biography.
Harry has claimed that the Duchess of Cornwall is not a “wicked stepmother” and instead insists that she is a “wonderful woman” reports Express.co.uk.
Despite Camilla having an affair with his father Prince Charles, who at the time was still married to his mother Princess Diana before her tragic death in 1997, it seems Harry has found forgiveness and actually feels ‘sorry’ for Camilla.
“To be honest, she’s always been very close to me and William,” he speaks of Camilla.
“She’s not a wicked stepmother. Look at the position she’s coming into. Don’t feel sorry for me and William, feel sorry for her.”
In these heartwarming comments, Harry went on to praise Camilla and profess his love for her.
“She’s a wonderful woman and she’s made our father very, very happy which is the most important thing. William and I love her to bits,” he says.
Prince Charles, 69, and Camilla Parker-Bowles, 71 have now been married for 13 years after the pair tied the knot with a very low-key wedding at Windsor Guildhall in 2005.
It’s been suggested in Harry: Conversations with the Prince that it wasn’t easy for Prince Charles to tell his sons that the woman blamed for the break-up of his marriage to their mother was going to become their stepmother.
And it surely wouldn’t have been easy for Camilla who received large volumes of criticism in both public opinion and the press.
However, Harry has clearly recognised this and grown to accept Camilla into the family.
