Prince Harry blasted in radio rant
Harry and Meghan along with Will and Kate are often credited with giving the monarchy a much-needed boost in popularity in recent years.
One radio shock jock, however couldn’t disagree more and in an angry on-air rant he hasn’t held back sharing those feelings.
The unexpected target of the vitriol was the Duke of Sussex, and in the firing line was not only his infamous youthful antics in Las Vegas, but his charity work and passion for mental health awareness.
UK radio host Mike Graham was behind the rant, and though he admitted he likes the Queen and feels neutral towards Prince Charles and William, when he landed on everyone’s favourite royal ginger he could barely contain his distaste.
The shock jock delivered the scathing assessment on talkRADIO, essentially accusing Harry of using his tax payer funded position to promote charities and ideas that have nothing to do with Britain as a country.
“Prince Harry is really starting to grind my gears, he is really starting to get on my nerves,” the presenter said.
He pointed out that after his wild Las Vegas party days shocked the world, the Prince has been totally rebranded but he wasn’t fooled.
“Now he has been reincarnated as Saint Harry,” the presenter complained.
He pointed to the Prince’s collaboration with Oprah Winfrey for a show focused on mental health awareness, and his involvement in the Invictus Games as among his sins against the nation.
“None of that has anything to do with me or my country, it has nothing to do with Britain, has nothing to do with his role in the Royal Family,” he argues.
The latest study shows that one in eight 5 to 19 year olds in Britain suffer with at least one mental disorder.
He goes on to say if Harry wants to be a philanthropist he is very much entitled but that he should, “not expect the British public to fund it. It is as simple as that.”
The latest study also shows that one in eight 5 to 19 year olds in Britain have at least one mental disorder, and one in four of the general population suffer with a mental health disorder.
Just what exactly it is that he thinks Harry should be doing is not made clear, as royal family members are regularly made patrons of charities and community initiatives.
It remains to be seen what the presenters assessment of Baby Sussex will be but if this little snippet is anything to go off, he for one isn’t looking forward to another royal arrival.
