Pregnant Lala Kent Says She'll Raise Her Two Kids with Help from Her Mom: 'Surrounded by So Much Love'

The 'Vanderpump Rules' star is currently pregnant with her second baby and is already mom to daughter Ocean, 2

Lala Kent is appreciative of the community she's built as she gets ready to welcome another little one to her family.

On Tuesday, the Give Them Lala podcast host, 33, hosted a pregnancy Q&A on Amazon Live after revealing that she's expecting her second baby. During the livestream, Kent shared how she plans to respond if one of her children asks about their father. Kent is already mom to daughter Ocean, 2, whom she shares with ex Randall Emmett.

"I never expected to be raising not one but two children in the type of household that I'm in," Kent admitted. "I always say I'm raising my daughter Ocean, and I'll be raising this new baby with my mom."

"My mom is a tremendous help, and she helps co-parent," the Vanderpump Rules star continued. "But I have a pod around me. I say we're like a pod of orcas. No one ever leaves the pod. We just keep adding to it. And it may not look normal to most people, but Ocean and this child, they're going to be surrounded by so much love."

"And I think that the word 'dad' is an honor and privilege, and that word is not something that should be handed out. And there are so many men in Ocean's life that will be in this baby's life that truly have taken on the role of a dad."

On Sunday, Kent announced her exciting baby news on Instagram, declaring in the caption of her post, "I'm expanding my pod."

She included a black-and-white photo showing a close-up of her pregnant belly as she stood next to her daughter Ocean.

A second photo captured the mother-daughter duo posing with two bottles of vitamins next to them on a counter. "A @maryruthorganics cheers to a new addition to my little family," Kent added.

In January, Kent opened up to PEOPLE about her desire to give her daughter a sibling.

"I think Ocean is going to freak out when another baby comes into the mix because she's obsessed with babies and I think she's going to be extremely hands-on," Kent said at the time.

When asked where she was in her fertility journey, Kent teased, "We're into the journey! We're actually hauling ass full-steam ahead."

A few weeks later, Kent told Cosmopolitan that she had begun the process of conceiving a second baby via intrauterine insemination (IUI) — a treatment where sperm is surgically placed in a uterus to fertilize an egg.

Noting that she had friends who went through the process but were in "cookie-cutter relationships," the reality TV star said, "when I had my life go in a very different direction, I knew I wanted more kids."

"It was such a strange thing that was happening because everyone would tell me, 'You're going to find somebody.' And I got to thinking, 'Why does my wanting more children need to involve another person?'"
