Prada Unveils Beachfront Boutiques in Dubai

PRADA AT THE BEACH: Prada is the sole fashion and luxury brand to be joining the lifestyle offering of the Bâoli Dubai in J1 Beach.

The Italian brand is opening two beachfront boutiques at the tony seaside club. They are defined by an oval shape and facades featuring the triangle pattern throughout.

The first unit spanning 538 square feet is dedicated to men’s and women’s leather accessories, while the second, 753-square-foot store carries the ready-to-wear collections and footwear.

In keeping with Prada’s global retail blueprint, the two boutiques feature wooden displays, striped panels in the brand’s signature pale green shade, bamboo seats and furniture nodding to ‘50s Italian design.

The Bâoli Dubai in J1 Beach is operated by the Bâoli luxury dining, nightlife and hospitality firm. Building on the success of its other locations in Miami and Cannes, for example, the Dubai beach club is the first such location for the hospitality operator and features culinary and entertainment hotspots spread across the different areas, which include the petal-shaped Sun Deck, the Sunset Lounge and the hidden speakeasy called Moon Room.

Prada already operates three boutiques in the city, two at the Dubai Mall and one at the Mall of the Emirates.

This is not the first time the brand has unveiled a store in an unusual location. Last September, Prada opened a temporary store at Barcelona’s Marina Port Vell harbor in conjunction with the 37th America’s Cup sailing competition in the Spanish city.

As reported, the retail project in Barcelona furthered Prada’s link with the event and marked an additional opportunity to ride on its visibility. The Prada Group chairman is behind the Luna Rosa Prada Pirelli sailing team, which competed in the 37th America’s Cup earlier this year.
