Popular McDonald’s-Chick-fil-A Order Hack Divides Fans: ‘Morally Wrong’
First there were the Montagues and the Capulets, now there's McDonald’s and Chick-fil-A.
At least, according to some fast food fans, who seem to either love or hate the union of the two fast food houses in a popular breakfast hack.

Food blogger snackolator shared a breakfast combination on social media, asking their followers if it could be “the greatest breakfast fast food crossover ever created.”
The hack involves ordering breakfast items from both McDonald’s and Chick-fil-A, but the blogger swears by it, declaring it “absolutely delicious.” To build the Chick-fil-A McGriddle sandwich, you need two things: a McGriddle sandwich from McDonald’s and a breakfast filet from Chick-fil-A.
The blogger suggested getting the spicy chicken from Chick-fil-A, and swapping that into the McGriddle. “You're getting that syrupy pancake taste (and texture) from McDonald's and the much thicker chicken filet from Chick-fil-A - this is the best of both worlds,” they wrote on Instagram.
Fans quickly shared their opinions on the franken-sandwich, with some approving wholeheartedly and writing “I’d love to try this one, the one McDonald’s had with their spicy chicken patty were pretty good so I can only imagine it with a spicy chick fil a fillet!”
“these are big back activities i can get behind,” said one fan.
Meanwhile, other fans were not on board, commenting “Not in my house” and “i gotta get taxed twice and probably spend $20 for this? Nah.” One fan went so far as to teasingly condemn the entire endeavor, writing, “This is morally wrong. God clearly doesn’t want his chicken to mix with the heathen McGriddles.”
Others expressed confusion towards needing to go to two fast food restaurants. “mcdonalds got a whole spicy chicken mcgriddle,” said one fan, and more agreed, writing “You can order this at McDonald's with their spicy chicken patty😂.” Some fans then defended the combination, explaining that, to them, “Mcchicken patties are far inferior to chick fil a.”
Another commenter passed judgment, not on the availability of certain menu items, but rather on the process as a whole. “I couldn’t live with myself if I went to 2 separate fast food places one after the other to prepare a meal,” they wrote.
“If Chick-fil-A would just being [sic] back the sliders that's the win. Full size chikn minis? No brainer. How those aren't on the full time menu is beyond me,” griped one commenter.
One fan took it further, sharing another mashup that they suggest. “Chick Fil A Chicken Filet + Red Lobster Cheddar Bay Biscuit,” they wrote before preemptively saying “you’re welcome.”
