Police Release 911 Call After Vontae Davis Is Found Dead at 35 in His Grandmother’s House
The retired cornerback's personal assistant alerted authorities after a woman found him unresponsive in the home's gym
The 911 call Vontae Davis’s personal assistant made after his body was found in his grandmother’s house has been released.
The assistant called authorities to report that a woman had found the NFL alum unresponsive in the home gym of the Southwest Ranches, Florida residence on April 1, according to Miami ABC affiliate WPLG and NBC Miami, both of whom obtained audio of the call.
“She arrived and he’s on the ground of the residence. She froze,” the assistant, who was on her way to the house, told dispatchers. “She called me and she didn’t even speak. That’s why I called.”
According to the assistant, she had been on FaceTime with the woman who found Davis prior to the 911 call, and the woman had shown the retired football pro “laying on the ground.”
