‘Poker Face’ Season 2 Casts Cynthia Erivo, Margo Martindale, BJ Novak (EXCLUSIVE)
“Poker Face” Season 2 is continuing to build out its guest cast with Cynthia Erivo, Margo Martindale, and BJ Novak all joining the next installment of the Peacock series.
The trio will appear alongside series lead Natasha Lyonne in the mystery-of-the-week series. They join previously announced guest stars Giancarlo Esposito, Katie Holmes, Gaby Hoffmann, Kumal Nanjiani, Sherry Cola, Kevin Corrigan, Ben Marshall, and Katherine Narducci.

The role keeps Erivo in the Universal family, as she is set to star in the studio’s upcoming feature adaptation of “Wicked,” due out in theaters on Nov. 22. Erivo previously received two Oscar nominations for the film “Harriet,” based on the life of Harriet Tubman. She got one nod for best actress and another for best original song alongside Joshuah Brian Campbell. Her other credits include “The Outsider,” “Bad Times at the El Royale,” and “Widows.”
She is repped by UTA, Entertainment 360, The Lede Company and Peikoff Mahan.
Martindale is a celebrated character actress who has won three guest actress in a drama series Emmys throughout her career — two for “The Americans” and one for “Justified.” Her recent credits include the film “Cocaine Bear” and the shows “Your Honor” at Showtime, “The Accused” at Fox, “Mrs. Davis ” at Peacock, and “The Watcher” at Netflix. She also memorably voiced a highly-fictionalized version of herself in the hit Netflix animated series “BoJack Horseman.” Next up, she is set to star in the Amazon series “The Sticky,” about the so-called Great Canadian Maple Syrup Heist.

Novak is best known for playing Ryan Howard on the hit NBC American adaptation of “The Office.” Novak also served as a writer and executive producer on the series. He is a five-time Emmy nominee thanks to his work on “The Office.” He recently wrote, directed, and starred in the feature “Vengeance” and created and directed the FX anthology series “The Premise.”
He is repped by CAA and Johnson Shapiro Slewett & Kole.
Lyonne stars in “Poker Face” as Charlie Cale, “who has an extraordinary ability to determine when someone is lying,” per the official description. “She hits the road with her Plymouth Barracuda and with every stop encounters a new cast of characters and strange crimes she can’t help but solve.”
Rian Johnson created the series and serves as director and executive producer via T-Street. Tony Tost is the executive producer and showrunner on Season 2. Lyonne executive produces and directs on the series in addition to starring under her production banner, Animal Pictures. T-Street’s Ram Bergman and Nena Rodrigue also executive produce along with Adam Arkin, Nora Zuckerman, and Lilla Zuckerman. T-Street and MRC produce.
