Pioneer Woman Ree Drummond Shows Off Daughter Paige's Bridesmaid Proposal Boxes – and Reveals Who's Her Matron of Honor
"Um...can I be a bridesmaid, please??" the Food Network star joked
Wedding planning is in full swing for Ree Drummond's youngest daughter Paige.
On Sunday, Sept. 1, Ree shared the creative way that Paige, 25, asked her friends to be bridesmaids in her wedding.
"Today Paige started gifting her friends (and sister!) with bridesmaid proposal boxes, which I don't think existed in 1996 when I became engaged to her dad...or if they did exist, they either hadn't made it to Oklahoma yet or I wasn't cool enough to know about them," the proud mother quipped in her Pioneer Woman blog. "Needless to say, they're fun and cute and a clever way to ask one's bridesmaids if they will...well, be bridesmaids!"
Paige's sweet tokens to her friends were filled with some fun products that even Ree couldn't resist. "Um...can I be a bridesmaid, please??" the mom joked in her post.
Ree explained that Paige penned thoughtful notes for the bridesmaids and included a black-and-white photo of herself with each of the box recipients in the inside lid of the box. Each gift also included a small bottle of champagne and a matchbook with customized labels, a candle tin, a small scarf in a cylindrical box, a Dior hand cream, a Laneige lip balm and more.
"The scarf was a splurge, and I take most of the blame for talking her into adding it to the box. In other words, I am a bad influence," she admitted of the contents.
In the post, Ree revealed that Paige had asked her sister Alex, who is expecting her first child, to be her Matron of Honor.
"Alex is Matron of Honor because she's married. Out of curiosity, I just looked up the word 'matron' in the dictionary and it reads 'a married woman, especially a dignified and sober middle-aged one.' I am laughing so hard, Ladd is asking me what is going on," the cookbook author wrote, referring to her husband. "And it's crazy that Alex will be a mom when she is matron of honor! Excuse me while I go cry."
Ree also revealed that Paige’s friend Anna will be her Maid of Honor, teasing that her now-fiancé David Andersen "might need to be prepared for her to go on the honeymoon with them, as she and Paige tend to be inseparable."
In the blog post, she also shared a photo of four of "Paige's good friends at University of Arkansas" who also received the bridesmaid boxes, which were customized with yellow ribbons and a small bouquet of baby’s breath.
While Ree didn't share the exact number of bridesmaids, a photo showed 11 boxes in total.

Last month, Ree reflected on Paige's engagement to her boyfriend of one year in another blog post, writing that she had kept secret for six weeks.
She said there was high "drama" when it came to "scheming…with David, our clandestine travel to Dallas, and the outright lies and deception we all had to throw [Paige’s] way over the past couple of weeks to make sure she didn't grow suspicious."
She wrote, "It was cops and robbers, it was cloak and dagger, it was an epic action adventure movie!"

Earlier this week, Ree shared a tribute post for Paige on Instagram in celebration of her 25th birthday. She posted two snaps of her daughter; one was a throwback of her as a baby and the other was a recent picture with her engagement ring.
"How it started vs. how it’s going," she captioned the post. "Twenty-five years ago, Paige Drummond entered my life and I’ve never been the same. She’s a mystery and a wonder, a dynamo and a gift. (Not to mention the most delicious baby with rubber band wrists for days.) Happy birthday, Paigie—I love you!!"
