Awkward photo of Meghan with Kate from before she met Harry resurfaces

Royal fans have uncovered a rather awkward photo of Meghan from years before she met Prince Harry, featuring Kate Middleton.

The Duchess of Sussex, who was an actress in Suits at the time, can be seem beaming in the photo from 2014, which shows her holding a magazine cover featuring her now sister-in-law Kate.

She was featured in the magazine speaking about her favourite sunglasses, and was photographed standing beside U Magazine’s deputy editor.

Did Meghan ‘covet’ royal life?

The photo featuring both Meghan and Kate was taken a few years before she started dating Prince Harry in 2016, and it has royal fans again wondering whether she truely “didn’t know much about him”, as she claimed in their engagement interview with the BBC.

“This just proves Meghan is coveting the royal life all her life,” one person tweeted.

‘Little girls dream of being princesses’

Meghan’s words and actions have often seemed somewhat contradictory.

In the same year as the magazine photo, Meghan also wrote about Kate on her former lifestyle blog The Tig, when she interviewed a ‘dear friend’ Misan Harriman, Princess Alia Al Senussi.

“Little girls dream of being princesses. I, for one, was all about She-Ra, Princess of Power. And grown women seem to retain this childhood fantasy,” she wrote. “Just look at the pomp and circumstance surrounding the royal wedding and endless conversation about Princess Kate.”

And yet, just before she was due to marry Prince Harry, another old photo emerged of a beaming 15-year-old Meghan posing outside of Buckingham Palace as a tourist.

Then 22 years later she officially become a member of the royal family.

Meghan ‘obsessed with royalty’

At the time one of Meghan’s childhood friends told Page Six she was always obsessed with royalty.

“Meghan was always fascinated by the royal family and hopes to be Princess Diana 2.0,” the source claimed.

Old pal Ninaki Priddy also said the American actress was obsessed by the royals, when the pair traveled to London as teens, the Daily Mail reported.

She said she was “not shocked at all” at Meghan’s engagement to Harry.

“It’s like she has been planning this all her life,” she said.
