Pete Davidson Returns to ‘SNL’ Tonight in Bizarre Musical Skit About the New York Port Authority

Saturday Night Live never shies away from weird and whacky and tonight's “Port Authority Duane Reade” skit is no exception. Taking place at a convenience store inside a bus terminal, the sketch gives the audience a Broadway-style musical tour through the characters one can expect to find in the Big Apple, like Mayor Eric Adams (Devon Walker) or former SNL castmember Pete Davidson!

The skit follows John Mulaney as a Duane Reade employee/mystical guide to the crunchier side of NYC as he explains to two customers (Davidson and Andrew Dismukes) the ins and outs of the terminal. We see a Lion King-esque performance by a family of possums, a bus full of contestants for the very real Timothée Chalamet lookalike contest, and Marcello Hernández as a bottle of shampoo who sings a song about freedom from behind a locked case (an all too common fixture among city drug stores). "Why?! Who would steal shampoo?" he wails.

And Davidson isn’t the only returning cast member who makes an appearance in the sketch. Andy Samberg pops by after appearing as Doug Emhoff in tonight’s cold open, but this time he delivers a Hamilton-inspired musical moment decked out in a bear costume. Mulaney explains, “That’s the dead bear that RFK Jr. dumped in Central Park.”
