"Barack Can’t Convince His Wife She Has To Do Her Duty?": The Internet Is Firing Back After A Fox News Host Questioned Why Michelle Obama Won't Attend Trump's Inauguration

By now, we have all heard that former first lady Michelle Obama is not attending Donald Trump's second inauguration.

So, I'm sure it is no surprise to hear that a Fox News host has something to say about it. Two million people have seen Jesse Watters express his thoughts on Obama's decision.

"Why are Barack and Michelle on such different pages?" he asked.

"Barack can’t convince his wife she has to do her duty and attend the inauguration?" he questioned.

"BUT she's an independent woman, and she can do what she wants, I guess."

The internet immediately pointed out the hypocrisy in Jesse's line of questioning. "Neither Trump attended Biden's inauguration. What is wrong with maga memory?" this person asked.

"Trump considers himself a disruptor, rudely walked out of WH and chose not to attend Biden's inauguration. I'll consider Michelle a polite disruptor with such advance notification of non-attendance..." this person said.

Many people have pointed out that it's not necessarily Michelle Obama's "duty" to attend the inauguration. "Barack  Obama is an ex-president. He has to attend despite his personal feelings! Michelle is a private citizen and is not bound by such strictures!"

"Michelle Obama doesn't have to do a thing except remain true to Michelle Obama," this person declared.

"Trump isn't owed the presence of people he openly despises. This is America, no one owes him fealty," this person said.

"No he respects her decisions. He respects her choices. Recognize that she's a strong individual with her own opinions, and as previously mentioned, he wouldn't change her for anything. @BarackObama" this person said.

And finally, this person had their own question about the inauguration guest list: "Is Melania going to be there?"

Celebrities like Carrie Underwood, The Village People, and Elon Musk, have all confirmed they'll be in attendance.
