The new series will follow Jamie’s parents, Ellen MacKenzie (played by Pennyworth‘s Harriet Slater) and Brian Fraser (Condor’s Nest‘s Jamie Roy), and Claire’s parents, Julia Moriston (We Hunt Together‘s Hermione Corfield) and Henry Beauchamp (Treadstone‘s Jeremy Irvine).
“The series will center on these two parallel love stories set in two different time periods, with Jamie’s parents in the early 18th-century Scottish Highlands and Claire’s parents in WWI England,” the official logline reads.
In the Blood of My Blood photo above, Seamus McLean Ross (Rebus) and Sam Retford (Coronation Street) play Colum and Dougal, respectively. In Outlander, Colum was played by Gary Lewis, while Dougal was played by Graham McTavish, whom you can see in the photo at the top of this post.
Outlander showrunner Matthew B. Roberts serves as showrunner and executive producer on the spinoff. Season 1 will consist of 10 episodes. Maril Davis and Ronald D. Moore also will be EPs, and Outlander author Diana Gabaldon will be a consulting producer.
