One Traitor Leaves, One Traitor Recruited! Who Went Home on 'The Traitors' Episode 9 Tonight?

After a strong inaugural season in 2023, The Traitors really became THE must-watch TV sensation of 2024, not only becoming one of Peacock's most successful shows but also nabbing multiple Emmys. Now Alan Cumming has invited 23 new reality TV legends to his Scottish castle for midnight murders, devastating banishments and the chance to take home $250,000.

Last week, seemingly against all odds, both Traitors Carolyn Wiger and Danielle Reyes managed to keep their cool and eliminate two Faithfuls, murdering Chrishell Stause and banishing Ciara Miller. Those eliminations narrowed the pool of players down to just nine, with the Traitors given the option of recruiting a new Traitor or murdering another Faithful at the end of the episode.

This week's episode began with the Traitors opting to murder rather than recruit. Then after trimming the field to eight, the players were joined by past Traitors Parvati Shallow and Kate Chastain for a chess-themed mission. After receiving some pivotal information regarding the Traitors, the players returned for yet another Round Table and banishment.

Britney Spears' ex-husband and professional trainer, Asghari spent most of the season flying under the radar. However, last week he started to show off some strategic chops and was immediately chopped by the Traitors. While Reyes wanted to recruit Britney Haynes to the turret, Wiger pushed for a murder and selected Asghari as her target.

Danielle Reyes has been accused all season of playing a sloppy game, but she pulled off a masterful move this week, conning her fellow Traitor into shooting herself in the foot. In the chess-themed mission, which involved the Traitors answering a series of questions ahead of time and the players guessing their answers, Wiger led the charge in making the Traitors' selection while Reyes sat back. Wiger drew suspicion on herself for the first time this season at the mission, and it was enough for Danielle to rally the votes at the Round Table and send home her last remaining partner.

At the end of Episode 9, Reyes, the sole Traitor left in the game, was offered the chance to recruit another player via the dungeon. In this case, the recruited player must either a) become a Traitor or b) quit the game. Reyes selected Haynes, and while we haven't seen Haynes's response, there's no reason to think she'd quit the game rather than become a Traitor. Provided she becomes a Traitor, the duo will then head back to the turret to murder one of the five remaining vulnerable players.

Who won Shields during Episode 9?

No one. No Shields were passed out during this week's chess-themed mission for some reason, meaning that Dolores Catania, Dylan Efron, Lord Ivar Mountbatten, Tom Sandoval and Gabby Windey are all available choices for murder.

Which players are left in The Traitors Season 3?

With 15 players eliminated, there remain seven contestants in the hunt for the $250,000, with two as Traitors and five as Faithfuls. The remaining players are:

Dolores Catania (Faithful)
Dylan Efron (Faithful)
Britney Haynes (Traitor)
Lord Ivar Mountbatten (Faithful)
Danielle Reyes (Traitor)
Tom Sandoval (Faithful)
Gabby Windey (Faithful)
