Older Adults Are Sharing Guilty Pleasures From Their Childhood They Refuse To Let Go
I feel like we all have a few quirks from childhood that we bring into our adult lives. Kids are weirdos, and their love for things is totally pure! Recently, I published an article discussing the "guilty pleasures" people have continued to enjoy since childhood, and in the comments, BuzzFeed Community members sounded off with their own "guilty pleasures." So, in the spirit of positivity, I thought I would go ahead and share those, too! Here are some of the best:
."I am 50 and still have the teddy bear my Grandma gave me when I was six months old. His name is Light Bear and he still plays a lullaby via a wind-up key. I wind him up about twice a year."
."Nothing better than the claymation Christmas shows each year."
"And of course the animated Peanuts Halloween and Christmas shows, and the [original 1966] animated Grinch, NOT the [live-action] movie — I saw the movie once and it left me cold, strongly disliked it."
."I watch Pixar movies regularly, especially all the Toy Story movies and Monsters Inc. I’m 32!"
."I have a 10-year-old and love shopping for school supplies (except the expense lol) because it just takes me back. I’m 45."

"I still get ridiculous enjoyment out of buying boxes of crayons and love the smell of new ones! I also started coloring myself a while back and I HAD to buy the big 64-count box with the sharpener in the back because that was LUXURY back in the day, lol. I decided eventually to switch to Prismacolor pencils though, and have collected at least a dozen coloring books of my favorite things."
."I'm 44 years old, and I have a bunny that I built at Build-a-Bear with my then-boyfriend (now hubby), and I named her after him."
."I buy coloring books for adults and markers by the case, it’s so relaxing for me to sit and color while watching TV at night to veg out."
."Making a cup coffee and adding a spoon of vanilla ice cream with my uncle on a Saturday evening."
."I’m 63, and still love frosted blueberry pop tarts and Cap’n Crunch cereal!"
."My childhood guilty pleasure to this day, and I’m 67, is the orange creamy push-up ice cream [that] comes in a push-up cardboard."
."I still and will always lick my bowl to finish my ice cream."

."Being out on the beach in the sun."
."Notebooks... all sorts. I gotta be careful when grabbing one for a client meeting, as a Star Wars Rebel Alliance notebook does not scream business owner, lol."
."I still have all my Breyer horses. Some [are] still displayed here and there on bookshelves. Still actively purchase the occasional Barbie and Blythe dolls, too. I'm almost 60."
."I have a couple of dollhouses and enjoy remodeling them from time to time. I now make upgraded furniture and still have a lot of fun decorating."
."Webkinz is my guilty adult pleasure."

"I still remember the excitement of getting my first Webkinz stuffy, the way the weird wiry fur felt and how floppy it was, and how cool it was to watch my digital home grow. Being able to play it every once in a while makes me feel like a kid again."
."The original PlayStation 1 games are the best."
."Really going way back, but every Thanksgiving it’s March of the Wooden Soldiers on the television after dinner."
."Watermelon Bubblicious."
."I love Nibs licorice — especially the the small packages you get on Halloween."
"My dad was addicted to those! He passed away but now every time I see them I think of him. ❤️"
."Definitely Oregon Trail (the video game) and PB&J on cheap white bread. No seed bread on my PB&J!"
."At the height of their popularity, gel pens were banned at my elementary school because they were causing too much distraction and conflict."
."I am 62 years old and I still watch the Peanuts Great Pumpkin and A Charlie Brown Christmas every year."
."Swedish Fish, preferably the bigger ones."
.And finally: "I still read my childhood favorite books when I'm feeling a little sad, such as Heidi, Black Beauty, Matilda, or Nancy Drew, while eating a big bowl of Cocoa Puffs or Apple Jacks."
