Briasha StroudAn Ohio mother who is accused of shooting her 12-year-old son in the head has been indicted on an attempted murder charge, authorities said.
Briasha Stroud, 28, of Deer Park, faces one count of attempted murder and two counts of felonious assault, online court records show.
Just before 3 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 26, a man called 911 to report that his girlfriend and her 12-year-old son had both been shot at his home in Deer Park, police alleged, WXIX reports.
"I need an EMS immediately," the caller told the dispatcher, according to a recording of the 911 call obtained by PEOPLE.
"It's a female and her son," the man said in a shaking voice. "I think she just shot her son and she is overdosing."
He said he had been inside the house when the gun allegedly went off, but didn't hear anything. Then he made his way out to the garage, where he found the woman in the driver's seat of a car, unconscious and foaming at the mouth, according to the recording.
He said the boy was in the passenger seat with an apparent gunshot wound to the head, according to the recording.
Asked if the boy was conscious, the man replied, "He's kind of moving."
The dispatcher directed him to apply pressure directly over the wound with a cloth, which he did until police arrived.
Stroud and her son were rushed to a local hospital where they were listed in critical condition, Deer Park Police Chief David Battin told WXIX.
