Ohio Man Accused of Murdering Daughter During Argument About Smoking in the House, as Horrified Sister Calls 911
Franklin Thompson, 64, is facing a charge of murder in the shooting death of his 24-year-old daughter Heather
An Ohio father was arrested for allegedly killing his daughter over an argument about smoking inside their home.
Franklin Thompson, 64, is facing a charge of murder in connection with the shooting death of his 24-year-old daughter Heather.
He is being held on a $1 million bond, according to WKRC.
Deputies were called to the Cincinnati home after Thompson's other daughter discovered her sister shot and called 911, the Cincinnati Enquirer reported.
At the scene, deputies took over CPR from her sister and Heather was transported to Bethesda North Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
The shooting allegedly was prompted over an argument over smoking in the family home.
"It apparently revolved around smoking in the house,” Hamilton County Assistant Prosecutor David Hickenlooper said at a bond hearing this week, per WKRC. “The defendant then shot the victim multiple times and left the house immediately thereafter."

Thompson was found walking near the home with a gun in his pocket, according to an arrest report obtained by PEOPLE.
Prosecutors said police observed blood spots on his clothes, per the Enquirer.
“Mr. Thompson later confessed to shooting Heather Thompson,” according to the arrest report, which noted that Thompson had a recent brain operation that “caused lasting issues.”
Family friend Kierra Houston told FOX19 NOW that Thompson was a good father.
“I’ve seen many sides of the family obviously for being close to the family for years,” she said. “This one was something that I couldn’t even have imagined."
