Odessa A’zion Among Final Additions To A24’s ‘Marty Supreme’
Odessa A’zion (Fresh Kills) is the newest addition to the cast of Marty Supreme, A24’s new film directed by Josh Safdie.
No word on the role to be played by A’zion. She joins a pretty electic ensemble led by Timothée Chalamet, which will also include Gwyneth Paltrow and musician Tyler, The Creator. Other new additions announced today include magician Penn Jillette, Shark Tank panelist and entrepreneur Kevin O’Leary (a.k.a Mr. Wonderful) and filmmaker Abel Ferrara.

While plot details are being kept under wraps, the pic has been reported as being loosely inspired by pro ping pong player Marty Reisman. At the same time, sources close to the production stress that it’s a fictionalized original, rather than a biopic.
Safdie and Ronald Bronstein penned the script and will produce alongside Eli Bush, Anthony Katagas, Chalamet and A24. Production is set to kick off this fall.
Most recently seen starring opposite Yara Shahidi in Amazon’s rom-com Sitting in Bars with Cake, A’zion’s other recent credits include Jennifer Esposito’s directorial debut Fresh Kills and Hulu’s reimagining of Hellraiser, as well as series like Ghosts and Grand Army. Currently shooting Sony’s video game adaptation Until Dawn, she’ll also soon be seen in crime thriller She Rides Shotgun, opposite Taron Egerton, the indie Nickels opposite Rob Riggle, and Rachel Sennott’s untitled HBO series.
A’zion is repped by UTA, Luber Roklin Entertainment, and Granderson Des Rochers; Jillette by Buggs and Rudy Discount Corporation, Golden Entertainment West, and manager Peter Adam Golden; O’Leary by Taylor Talent Services and Ziffren Brittenham; and Ferrara by Davoli Davids.
