Ellie the Elephant and Grimace seemed to be hard-launching a relationship, and fans were loving it.

The New York Liberty mascot and the amorphous purple blob hinted that they could be in an amorous way, according to paparazzi-like photos of the duo posted on McDonald’s social media pages on Monday, Jan. 13.

In the images, Grimace — who became a beloved rally symbol for the New York Mets last season — was seen escorting the pachyderm around Brooklyn. In one shot, he picked Ellie up from her brownstone, while in another, the elephant stood outside a cab. The mascots were also seen riding an escalator at Barclays Center and posing for street-side selfies underneath the Brooklyn Bridge.

“Okay….what is happening,” the company cryptically wrote alongside the photos, further adding to the intrigue.
