From Not-So-Bad Guys to 'Lunch' Dates, Billie Eilish's Relationships and Dating History

Billie Eilish

Billie Eilish doesn't want to make her private life a commodity for public consumption.

"I definitely want to keep [relationships] private," she said in a September 2020 interview with Capital Breakfast With Roman Kemp. "I've had relationships and kept them private, and even the ones that I’ve had, with the tiny amount that I’ve let the world see, I regret. I think about the people that have made their relationships public, and then they break up, and it’s like, ‘What if it goes bad?’ "

Two years later, however, she did make at least one romance public—though she's since gone back to keeping her dating life quiet.

Here are all of Billie Eilish's relationships and Billie Eilish's dating history that we know of (and there's probably more that we don't!).

The smooch came right around the time she confirmed to Rolling Stone that she was attracted to and in love with women for most of her life.

"I've been in love with girls for my whole life, but I just didn't understand—until, last year, I realized I wanted my face in a vagina."

Phew! That said, in terms of her actual relationships, here's what we know for sure. (It ain't much!)

Eilish's most recent public relationship was with Jesse Rutherford, lead singer of the band The Neighbourhood and 11 years her senior—and boy, was she proud of this one at the time. The pair reportedly first started dating around October 2022.

She told Vanity Fair that November, "Yeah, I do [have a boyfriend now], and it's really cool, and I'm really excited, and I'm really happy about it. I managed to get my way to a point in my life … where I not only was known by a person that I thought was the hottest f—king f—ker alive, but pulled his ass."

She continued, "Are you kidding me? Can we just—round of applause for me. Thank you! Jesse Rutherford, everyone! I pulled his ass—all me! I did that s—t. I locked that motherf—ker down.”

She's had other relationships as well.

Neither of them spoke directly about dating one another, but when they apparently split in May 2022, Vorce wrote in an Instagram Story (via Harper's Bazaar), "Nobody cheated on anyone. Relationships end. Simple as that. Creating rumors and LYING on the internet is dangerous."

"I just wasn't happy. I didn't want the same things he wanted and I don't think that's fair for him," she explained in the film. "I don't think you should be in a relationship super excited about things that the other person couldn't care less about. I don't think that's fair to you. I don't think that's fair to him. There was just a lack of effort. I was literally like, 'Dude, you don't have enough love to love yourself so you can't love me, dude. And you don't. You think you do.' "

She added, "I do love him, though, which made it harder. I’m not over him; I didn't find someone else. I didn't stop having love for him. I just spent time away from him for a little bit, and I was like, 'Wow! I’m missing so much because I'm worried about you all the time, and I don't want what you want, and you don’t want what I want.' I don't want to fix him. I can't fix him. I tried."
