Nicole Kidman leads celebs in pledge against sexual assault
Nicole Kidman, Margot Robbie and Jennifer Lawrence are leading a star-studded pledge to speak up against sexual assault, in the wake of the sex scandal that has rocked Hollywood.
The high profile celebs, which also includes Emma Stone, Gal Gadot, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Mary J. Blige, have put on a united front in a powerful video that see's them saying, "I will not be silent."
A light has been shone on the topic as a result of the claims that have been made against movie producer Harvey Weinstein, was accused of abusing his power to benefit sexually.
The campaign by W Magazine sees each celebrity speak directly to the camera, with Aussie actress Nicole Kidman kicking the important message off by looking directly into the camera.
Nicole has previously showed her support for those coming forward.
"I support and applaud all women and these women who speak out against any abuse and misuse of power— be it domestic violence or sexual harassment in the workforce." she told People. "We need to eradicate this behaviour."
Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot, meanwhile has also made no secret of her desire for things to change.
The actress said she would not return to her role in the upcoming sequel if producer Brett Ratner, who has also been accused of sexual misconduct, was working on the follow-up.
JLaw too has publicly spoken about how the stories about Weinstein affected her, having worked with the disgraced producer in the past.
"He was paternal to me..." she told Oprah in an interview. "I didn't know he was a rapist."
The video also stars several leading men making a stand against the issue, including Jake Gyllenhaal, Robert Pattinson and Andrew Garfield.
