Nicole Kidman has long been a fashion darling and has an extensive repertoire of iconic red carpet looks—which, by the way, she plans to pass down to her teen daughters, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret. But even a style maven like Kidman has a few fashion regrets of her own and "many" outfits of which her mother did not approve—relatable!

In an interview with W Magazine for its Best Performances issue, Kidman revealed that her mother, Janelle Ann Kidman, who died in September, was a harsh critic when it came to the actress's red carpet looks.

"My mama thought I had many bad red carpet looks," Kidman said when asked if she's "ever had a bad red carpet look." However, the actress agreed with her mom, citing one specific outfit and accessory. "I remember wearing a headdress once to the Golden Globes. I didn’t know what I was doing. Got to have a few train wrecks!"

Style critiques aside, Kidman's mom was a steadfast supportive of her daughter's work. The actress shared her mom's favorite films of hers. "The more love and the more intimacy and closeness you have with a person, the more it’s going to hurt losing them. But I’ll take the pain," she said of losing her mom earlier this year. "She loved Rabbit Hole. She loved The Paperboy. She never saw Babygirl. She loved The Hours. She was tough, though, in her criticism. So I’m used to that, which is quite good."

Despite her mom's clothing criticism, Kidman knows that she's also had several fashion home runs. Her favorites include her famous chartreuse Dior by Galliano dress that she wore to the 1997 Globes, as well as the gold Galliano gown from 2000 Oscars.

"I wore the most beautiful little 24-karat gold vintage mesh gloves. They had little gemstones in them," she recalled. "But, I'm also partial to a tie and a suit. My natural way of dressing would be far more pants, tie, suit, and a jacket. My first purchase when I'd saved all my per diem money was an Alaïa suit. I wish I kept it. It cost a fortune. It’s nauseating that I did that."
