Kylie Minogue: 'Michael was so many firsts in my life'

Kylie Minogue has revealed that she still misses ex-boyfriend Michael Hutchence, who passed away in 1997.

The 45-year-old popstar opened up to Australia's GQ magazine about her relationship with the INXS rocker.

The pair started dating in 1989, and she explained: "Let’s just say I was 21 and my eyes were open to the world. You want to experience everything and I couldn’t think of a better person to, you know, take those first steps into the big wide world with."

Kylie and Michael dated for two years before their split, when he left her for Danish model Helena Christensen.

However, the former couple maintained a friendship until Hutchence was found dead in his hotel room in 1997.

The Into the Blue singer told GQ that Hutchence's funeral was the first she had ever been to. She said: "I remember thinking that at the time, that of course his was the first funeral and the first kind of thing like that because Michael was just so many firsts in my life."
