Prince Harry "can't wait" to be an uncle

Prince Harry has told how he 'can't wait' to be an uncle as he returns from the war zone.

In an interview in Afghanistan, where he has served since September, Harry, 28, said of his brother Prince William and sister-in-law Kate Middleton:

"Obviously I'm thrilled for both of them."

He also joked: "It's about time."

The young royal continued: "I spoke to my brother and her, and they're both very well and both very happy obviously.

"I think it's very unfair that they were forced to publicise it when they were, but that's just the media for you."

The royal couple revealed the pregnancy prematurely after Kate was rushed to hospital for severe morning sickness.

Harry was interviewed about 10 days after the news of the pregnancy was revealed, but his comments have only just been released for security reasons.

Harry also told of his frustration with the media:

"I literally am very, very happy for them, but I just only hope that she and him – but mainly Catherine – hopefully that she gets the necessary protection to allow her as a mother-to-be to enjoy the privacy that that comes with.

"I seriously hope that's going to be able to happen."

The prince also spoke about his own search for love.

He said: "I don't think you can ever be urged to settle down.

"If you find the right person and everything feels right, then it takes time, especially for myself and my brother."

However Harry says it's hard to find a woman who isn't scared at the thought of becoming a royal.

He said: "You ain't ever going to find someone who's going to jump into the position that it would hold," he says.

"Simple as that."
