Tom and Katie’s shock: Isabella moves out at 17!

Teenager Isabella Cruise is said to have moved out of her famous father's million-dollar mansion in a bid to make it on own - and is working in a local hair salon.

One of her close reveals exclusively to New Idea that the 17-year-old daughter of Tom and his ex-wife Nicole Kidman has moved in with a family friend and wants to forge a career as a make-up artist – without the help of her superstar father.

‘She’s keen for her independence,’ the source says. ‘Bella is determined to distance herself from Tom’s name.’

New Idea has learnt that for the past few months Isabella has been secretly living 10 minutes away from the Beverly Hills mansion Tom shares with his wife Katie Holmes, 31, their daughter Suri, four, and Isabella’s brother Connor, 15.

Unlike other Hollywood A-list children, the teenager works part-time at a local hair salon where she sweeps up, makes tea and coffee and washes the clients’ hair.

'Bella loves doing shifts there,' her friend explains. 'She goes in a couple of days a week and helps out.'

While she remains close to Tom and Katie - recently joining them in New York where her dad was promoting his film Knight and Day - Isabella's friend says she has no aspirations to emulate her parents' glittering film careers.
