However Brad and his new wife Angelina Jolie were noticeably absent from the nuptials, sparking rumours of a rift between the once tight-knot duo.
When asked by Access Hollywood why he missed the momentous occasion, he revealed that he and Ange were filming their new movie, By The Sea.

"We were filming in Malta," he explained.
The 50-year-old admitted he still needs to make things up to his pal by sending a wedding present to the happy couple.

"[Did I send a gift?] I still owe him something," he added.
Despite Brange's absence, the guest list at the wedding still read like an Academy Awards line up, with Matt Damon, Emily Blunt, John Krasinski, Bill Murray, Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber among the guests who helped George celebrate.
