Elle and Anthony Watmough are on cloud nine after the birth of their daughter, Jagger Rose Watmough.

The pair introduced their first born, who was 33 weeks premature, on Instagram.

'Little J couldn't wait! Jagger Rose Watmough,' said Elle affectionately.

She added: 'Both mum and baby doing great, dad over the moon at the arrival of his baby girl. She is off to intensive care at Royal north shore for a few days to help with her breathing but will be back in no time. We are so in love.'

Elle also shared a close-up of her newborn and said of her precious bub: 'How on earth did we create this angel @awatmough ??? I'm so excited that today I am allowed to go and visit her!! Have held her for about 10 seconds before she was taken away and I miss her a lot but @awatmough has been visiting her lots and she is doing really well.

'Got the all clear to head over and see her today and I'm SO excited to see her not just through photographs 💗💗💗 #jaggerrose #sorryforthephotospam,'

The model had been documenting her difficult pregnancy through her blog, 'This Is Our Story'.

The couple received the devastating news their unborn baby was at a high risk of Trisonomy 18 - a fatal chromosome abnormality, and had to endure five agonising weeks before discovering - thankfully - that their daughter was healthy.

'We are over the moon to let you all know that after 5 weeks of testing we just received the news that our baby girl has beaten the odds and is healthy and does not have Trisomy 18,' revealed the model who is pregnant with NRL star Anthony Watmough's baby.

'We have a rare condition called "Confined Placental Mosaicism" where the T18 cells are confined to the placenta but are not present in the baby. We will just need regular ultrasounds to make sure she is growing properly, but we are so thrilled to be out of the woods. The last 5 weeks have been overwhelming, scary and frustrating but we could not have done it without everyone's love and support. We honestly appreciate it more than you could know. We can't wait for you to meet our bub in March 2016.'

The 25-year-old struggled to conceive for years after suffering from endometriosis, but managed to become pregnant through IVF.

Elle wrote about her hardships trying to fall pregnant on her blog, where she revealed: 'I first remember having medical problems when I was about 16... Some of the symptoms included period pain so bad I couldn't get out of bed to go to school, constant cramping, extreme fatigue and migraines…It wasn't until I met Anthony and decided to go off the pill that all the real trouble started.'

The couple overcame the odds to announce their pregnancy last year, and welcomed their bub to the world on Sunday (Jan 24).

Jagger Rose will spend the next few days in intensive care to help with her breathing.
