''Duchess of York, Sarah Ferguson, says she is standing by ex-husband Prince Andrew amid recent sex allegations.

The 55-year-old Duchess has slammed reports that her ex had sexual relations with a 17-year-old girl in a new interview with the Today show.

Sarah told host Matt Lauer: "I won't stand by - because I know what it feels like to have salacious lies made up about you - and not support him so publicly.

“It's defamation of character and as a great father and a humungously good man and all the work he does for Britain I won’t stand by and let him have his character defamed to this level."

"My integrity and the American people know my integrity and my integrity is of a great man and I will not have one word said about him on any level. Any level."

The former couple, who divorced in 1996 after ten years of marriage, have remained on good terms.

They are parents to daughters Beatrice, 26, and Eugenie, 24 who are said to be 'humiliated' by the whole situation.

The Duchess then however turned the interview back around to promote her new healthy lifestyle and business venture called Duchess Discoveries after dropping 24.9kgs.

“I’ve been a comfort eater since I was 12 years old,” explained Sarah, who was once cruelly dubbed 'The Duchess of Pork' for her weight loss struggles, says she was 'miserable' and decided she had to do something about it.

“I decided that I would go and discover, which is why I’ve started Duchess Discoveries, and find out ... after all these years, that you could lose the weight and keep it off. It was all down to good nutrition.”

Duchess Discoveries aims to help people fight their weightloss challenges and helps them find out what works to keep it off.
