'Hard to watch': Final moments before star's disappearance caught on CCTV
CCTV footage of the final moments before Glee star Naya Rivera’s shocking disappearance has been released by local police on YouTube, along with a recording of the 911 call made when her four-year-old son was discovered alone.
The Ventura County Sheriff’s Department confirmed that the 33-year-old, who played Santana Lopez on the show, is presumed dead after she went missing on Wednesday afternoon at Lake Piru in Ventura California after renting out a boat with her four-year-old son.
The latest footage released by the Sherriff’s department shows the star arriving at the port in a black SUV in the final moments before she sailed out with her son. She has not been seen since.
“This is the recording from the security camera at the boat launch when Naya Rivera and her son arrived to rent a pontoon boat at Lake Piru,” the department wrote in the video’s description. “The video will show them departing the dock and travel north in the lake.”
The footage shows Naya and Josey step out of the car and make their way over to the pier, with Naya carrying a large white bag as Josey walks behind her.
The pair then board a boat which sails out across the lake.
Viewers of the video, many of which are fans of the actress, left well-wishes and comments beneath the video, with many agreeing the footage was ‘hard to watch’.
Police also released audio of the initial 911 call made when Naya’s four-year-old son, Josey Hollis Dorsey, was found asleep and alone in the boat.
In the recording a woman describes the situation to an operator, misidentifying Josey as a little girl and saying: “The emergency is we have a missing person we found a little girl in one of the boats by herself and her mum’s nowhere to be found.”
The woman goes on to explain her husband was one of the first to find the child, saying that while she didn’t have all the details about the incident she ‘just wanted to call it in’.
Officials say Naya ‘never made it out of the water’
Officials previously gave an update on the recovery mission for the Glee star on Friday morning revealing they believe the actress “never made it out of the water”.
Naya's son, Josey, initially told investigators that he and his mother went for a swim, but she never returned to the boat.
In a press conference on Thursday the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department said after speaking to Jose some more they believe Naya drowned.

“He gave enough information to investigators to conclude that his mother never made it out of the water,” Sergeant Kevin Donoghue told reporters.
“We’re still investigating and trying to find out what happen,” the Sergeant continued. “It’s not uncommon to have boating accidents and people lose their lives. And we have had drownings here.”
He said the department was using “every asset available to locate her” including a team of divers and air operations.
Naya presumed dead after shock disappearance
The update comes after authorities revealed their rescue operation to find Naya Rivera is now considered a recovery operation with the Glee star presumed dead, CBSLA reported.
Captain Eric Buschow of Ventura County Sheriff's Department, told the LA Times Josey was "in good health".
“The family is going through a very traumatic time right now,” he told NBC LA, adding, “This is considered to be a horrible accident.”
Naya's identity was confirmed after finding her wallet onboard the boat with her son. Her life jacket was also in the boat.
