Nara Smith isn't shy about the body-shaping requests she makes when curating a bespoke wardrobe.

At the 2024 CFDA Fashion Awards, the influencer and her husband, model Lucky Blue Smith, spoke to PEOPLE about the riskiest moves they make in the name of fashion. Nara, 23, was quick to share her preference for clothes with a tighter fit, even when those looks have somewhat restrictive side effects.

"What I keep telling my tailor every time I get outfits tailored is, 'I do not want to be able to breathe, so just snatch me as much as you can,'" the German-South African model admits to PEOPLE on the red carpet.

While Lucky Blue, 26, struggled to come up with his own risky fashion statement, he showed support for his wife's go-to ask when getting clothes altered: "Cinch it up," he agrees.

The couple — who share three kids: daughters Rumble Honey, 4, and Whimsy Lou, 6 months, and son Slim Easy, 2 — also chatted with PEOPLE about more personal preferences, like their favorite types of music. Though Nara and Lucky Blue said their music tastes aren't particularly similar, the TikToker revealed that she's a fan of Chappell Roan's pop hits.

"Anything Chappell," Nara shares. "It's so good."

For the fashion event, the couple was decked in head-to-toe Ralph Lauren looks, including a Purple Label double-breasted tuxedo jacket, tuxedo shirt and Polo Ralph Lauren denim on Lucky and a Ralph Lauren Collection fall 2024 embellished evening gown on Nara.

They complimented each other's looks with Tiffany & Co. jewelry as Nara wore Tiffany T T1 earrings and a Jean Schlumberger by Tiffany ring and her husband donned a Tiffany Union Square watch and a Tiffany T T1 ring.

On Oct. 19, the fashion-forward duo stopped to speak with PEOPLE about their life at home while attending the Clarins Double Serum Generation 9 launch event during Formula 1 weekend in Austin, Texas. The parents opened up about their feelings about Halloween, and how they plan to celebrate in a way that feels most comfortable to them.

"We don't really like Halloween that much," Nara told PEOPLE. Lucky reemphasized his wife's statement, adding, "Yeah, we're not the biggest Halloween fans."

The couple didn’t give an explanation as to why they aren’t fans of the spooky holiday, but despite their hesitance, they said they planned to put their opinions aside for their kids. "We'll pull it together for the babies," Nara said.

In classic fashion, Nara — who first became popular on TikTok for her viral cooking videos in which she makes conventional dishes and desserts from scratch — noted that she might even whip up some special treats.

"I might make some candy from scratch. We'll see," Nara teased. Lucky, who's a known fan of his wife's homemade cooking, said with excitement, "Oh, that's nice!"
