Nappy-changing Chris Hemsworth ‘for sure’ a feminist

Australian actor Chris Hemsworth is “for sure” a feminist.

Hemsworth, who stars in the female-led Ghostbusters reboot and The Huntsman: Winter’s War, said his parents played a big role in shaping his respect for women.

“My mum’s a big feminist. I think that my views on things, as far as respect for women and so on, came from my mum,” he told Radio Times.

“My dad has a very balanced and respectful view on a lot of things too. They were huge positive influences in my life.”

Hemsworth also admits that changing dirty nappies keeps him grounded.

The 32-year-old actor has three-year-old daughter India Rose and two-year-old twin sons Sasha and Tristan with his wife Elsa Pataky and insists his dad duties stop him from developing an ego based on his day job as a Hollywood hero.

“(When you're a parent) it's not about you anymore, which is refreshing, and my kids are hilarious and insane and crazy - it's good,” he told UK TV show Good Morning Britain.

“You go from press tours and work and then straight back into reality and you're handed a child with a nappy."

Speaking about his marriage in December 2010 to Spanish actress Pataky, which occurred after just several months of them dating, Hemsworth insists their whirlwind nuptials "just felt right".

"It did happen quick and it just felt right, just, it made sense,” he said.

“There was no great plan to any of it, to be honest. We were on holiday and we said, 'Why don't we get married too?' And then the next minute...

“There probably should have been some planning, but it all worked out.

“We had both our families on holiday at the same time, just randomly, and we said this is a good opportunity with everyone together, so we just did it."
