'Poo-shies': Mum's bizarre use for leftover Ooshie makes a splash online
A mum’s unusual idea for repurposing her leftover Lion King Ooshie collectables has made a big splash on social media.
When faced with the daily dilemma of wayward toilet rolls in the bathroom, the crafty mum-of-three came up with a nifty solution using the highy collectable toys.
Fed up with her children knocking the rolls off the holder, the woman attached an Ooshie, which appears to be a Gold Mufasa, to the end of the metal holder thereby preventing the roll from ending up on the floor.
The mum took to Facebook to share a photo of the result in a private group, with other members hailing her idea as “Brilliant” and “Clever!”
“With three young kids I’m sick of the toilet paper ending up on the floor, so I’ve repurposed the Ooshies,” she wrote in the post.
How to upcycle your old Ooshies
Praise for the smart mum’s innovative use for the once-popular toy has since rolled in, with one user calling it a “genius idea”.
“Omg this is fantastic!!!!” said another.
“Upcycling at its finest,” praised one.
A keen user wrote, “I’m so doing this!!!!” while another suggested using “Different Ooshies every week” to mix things up.
One fan went ahead and tried it themselves, giving it their seal of approval.
“Done and works a treat,” they reported.
One mum piped up to say that her son “would pull [the Ooshie] off and play with it whilst he's on the bloody toliet”.
As for the toilet roll Ooshie inventer’s own kids, she said, “they have been told not to [touch it]. But we will see how long that lasts”.
Elsewhere, the jokes were flowing thick and fast.
“Pooshies,” wrote one user, making a play on the words ‘Ooshie’ and, well ... you get the idea.
“Poor Mufasa,” lamented another.
“Great idea. I have the same [toilet roll] holder, it’s a pain!” remarked one, to which a quick-witted user replied, “Not as much of a pain as this is for Simba”.
“Shove that up your ar*e Simba” joked one.
“I would have used Scar instead haha” said another.
“Now, if you can get the Ooshies to change rolls and [chuck] the old one out, my problem will be solved” one added.
The toilet roll talk also sparked a debate about the right and wrong way the paper should hang.
“Your toilet paper is the wrong way,” accused one user, prompting another to respond, “No it’s not.”
“Good to see that the roll is up the right way,” remarked another.
The Lion King Ooshies appear to have been eclipsed by Woolworths’ new collectables campaign, Discovery Garden.
