As the world's greatest athletes may be gathering in Paris at this year's 2024 Summer Olympics to compete for the gold, they'll also be serving up plenty of noteworthy looks that will surely be sartorially stunning. After all, Paris is the city of fashion. Designers from every region have been called upon to craft practical yet stylish uniforms for their national team's moment in the spotlight.

Since the opening and closing Olympic ceremonies are such major platforms for brands and star athletes to showcase awe-inspiring looks inspired by their cultures, some could argue that this year's games could be equally viewed as fashion shows just as much as sports competitions. From unique unitards to elevated athleisure, oversized tracksuits and more, there will be a wide array of fashions for us all to fawn over until the games wrap on August 11th.

Ahead, we take a look at the most stylish Olympic uniforms of 2024 so far.

Team USA tapped Ralph Lauren to showcase iconic American style on the global stage at this year's Olympics. “Ralph Lauren has once again created designs that not only capture the essence of American style but also embody the spirit and pride of Team USA,” said Sarah Hirshland, CEO of the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee, in a press release. During the opening ceremony, athletes will walk out in classic tailored blazers with red and white tipping and a striped oxford shirt worn with tapered jeans, but for the closing ceremony, the brand is revving up the athlete's style with a sporty moto-style jacket paired with white denim and a Polo shirt.

TikTok was sent into a frenzy when designers Michel and Amazonka Choigaalaa revealed their insanely intricate Olympic uniforms for Team Magnolia to wear at the opening and closing ceremonies. The stunning uniforms took over 20 hours to make and feature elaborate gold embroidery, rich symbolism, and a classic silhouette that harkens back to the country’s traditional buttoned overcoat-like clothing known as a "deel." Female athletes will be accessorized with cascading earrings and tasseled satchels. The designers sought to "encapsulate profound cultural heritage and aspirations, resonating with themes of resilience, conquest, and cultural identity," according to their Instagram. Mission accomplished.

Puma is helping Jamaica's track and field team cross the finish line with flair in cutting-edge racing apparel. The country's black, yellow, and green colors are boldly on display, while jacquard fabric helps runners reduce their body temperatures and allow for more breathability with "thermoadapt" technology to help regulate body temperature, enabling optimum performance on the track. When speaking of the significance of the pieces, Puma Chief Product Officer Maria Valdes shared: "They are a symbol of pride for the Puma family, and we hope that they become a symbol of pride for Jamaicans this summer and long into the future.”

The roster of Olympic sports is getting a jolt of energy with the new inclusion of break dancing. Team Netherlands will be busting a move in neon orange and white jumpsuits from Amsterdam-based brand The New Originals that combine futurism and nostalgic designs.

Team France

<p>Berluti</p>

It shouldn't be surprising that the host country of the Olympics would want to take its uniforms to stylish new heights. In collaboration with luxury brand Berluti and fashion icon Carine Roitfeld, France unveiled chic royal blue tuxedos for its athletes with ‘Bleu-Blanc-Rouge’ ombre lapels. The tuxedo jacket also comes in a sleeveless iteration with a knee-length silk skirt or ankle-length trousers, which athletes could easily wear right off of the opening ceremony stage and out for a night on the town.

Team Haiti

Haitian-born designer Stella Jean sought to showcase the beauty of her homeland through the Olympic opening ceremony uniforms she conjured. Jean collaborated with painter Philippe Dotard, to incorporate his artwork titled “Passage” into the looks. Bold swaths of color are splattered about the uniforms, contrasted with solidity-hued field jackets and sleeveless blazers. Speaking of the significance of her designs being worn by Haiti's team, Jean said: "They are 15 living symbols of rebirth and renewal that extend beyond what is usually shown.”

To beat the Parisian summer heat, team Egypt will walk out in made-to-measure white suits fabricated in premium lightweight fabrics worn by premium organic Egyptian cotton T-shirts designed by menswear brand Concrete. Detailed with blue and white piping, the suits are a fashion-forward moment for the country, but the designers wrote in an Instagram post that "this isn’t just about style, it’s a symbol of Egyptian pride, passion and determination."

To help bridge the gap between Western and West African culture, designer brands Labrum and Adidas collaborated on Sierra Leone's official team kit for the 2024 Games. Athletes will wear it at the Olympic village, on the podium, and the field. The brilliant blue and white looks are emblazoned with reimagined cowrie shells, which have become an emblem of strength and resilience for the West African country. Speaking on the launch of the pieces, Labrum's founder, Foday Dumbuya, wrote on the brand's site: “We have crafted a uniform that not only embodies the hopes and dreams of these athletes but also serves as a beacon of joy and unity as they compete on the world stage.”

For the athletic canucks of Canada, sportswear brand Lululemon worked closely with the team to create ravishing red uniforms for the Olympic and Paralympic games. For the Paralympic athletes, the brand considered their needs by focusing on adaptability, thermal comfort, fit and function. "The print across the Opening Ceremony kit celebrates the diversity of Canada and interprets the art, architecture, and nature found throughout the nation," Lululemon revealed via press release. "Each icon in the print is a small reminder of home, intended to create a sense of connection and pride for athletes getting ready to compete in Paris."

Team Nigeria

Although many of the brands are designing uniforms for the Olympics and plush with massive budgets, there's something to be said of the small independent designers who are creating looks for the games. Take, for instance, former basketball player Lanny Smith's brand Actively Black's uniforms for Team Nigeria. Not only did Smith showcase the country's gorgeous green national colors, but he also considered it a pushback on big-box brands. "This project allows me to experience the fantasy of participating in the Olympics. But more impactful is the opportunity for a small Black-owned brand to show up and compete against the giant legacy brands on the biggest sporting stage in the world," Smith told Essence.

Team Australia

Each piece of Team Australia's uniform will feature an ombré green and gold color story to symbolize Australia’s national colors, and they are designed to accommodate various body types and sporting requirements. The uniforms are accented with playful prints that pay homage to the Indigenous communities with prints from community artists Paul Fleming and David Bosun. While the men will be decked out in a blazer and shorts, women can choose a double-breasted blazer with khaki shorts or a pleated skirt.
