The Most Loved Costco Snack Was Just Revealed, and the Winner Might Shock You

Who doesn’t love having direct access to their favorite snacks? Those who shop at Costco might be far more aware of such a privilege, as the retailer seems to make it a priority to provide customers with the latest and greatest in snack concoctions. There’s no comparison to Costco’s bite-sized prowess, however, there is a compilation of Costco’s Top 50 Snacks, according to customers to obsess over.

If you ever wondered how your personal snack tastes stack up against the average Costco membership holder, the big box retailer's shopping data is officially in. CouponBirds, a well-known coupon aggregation site, recently curated a list of 50 most-loved snacks available at Costco. The list includes cookies, chocolates, nuts, nutrition bars, raisins, crackers and more, with Costco’s in-house brand taking home multiple positions in the top 50.

“It was interesting to see a nice mix of products on the list, ranging from well-known brand names to Costco’s private label offerings,” Andy Cooper, a financial analyst and money-saving expert with CouponBirds says. “However, Kirkland Signature items make up a significant portion of the Top 50 list, highlighting Costco’s position in delivering high-quality products at competitive prices.”

CouponBirds analyzed nearly 146,000 customer ratings for each and every snack listed on Costco’s website as of June 2024. The aggregation site then ranked each item according to the highest percentage of five-star reviews, removing products with less than 100 reviews in the process. Of the top 50, the most loved snacks of all were Utah Truffles Dark Chocolate Truffles with Sea Salt. These tasty little treats ended up with 91.99-percent of reviews resulting in five stars.

Other notable results from the list include an array of Saltines, Honey Maid Graham Crackers, raisins, Craisins and trail mix landing in the top 50, however, there are no chips in sight. Cooper also noted that international brands outperformed tons of popular American ones. “Costco’s most loved cookies, Belgium’s Lotus Biscoff, stands out as the top choice, surpassing America's widely popular Oreos [in 50th place],” Cooper said.

What this list shines a light on is the fact that snacking in America seems to be changing. With more health-conscious options readily available, the days of munching on bags of Doritos and Twinkies just might be behind us. Our palates are changing and so are our preferences, so it's nice to see a variety of snacks becoming more available. You can take a look at the entire detailed list here, and decide for yourself if Americans are changing the way they snack.
