Modern Family star ‘hurt’ after spin-off series rejected by network
The actor claimed that if the network had allowed them to go through with the project, it “would have been a slam dunk”.

Modern family star Eric Stone Street revealed his feelings were hurt when the potential spin-off featuring Cameron Mitch was rejected.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly Stone Street said, Chris Lloyd and a couple of the writers wrote a really great script that spun Jesse and I off in our life in Missouri and they said No, they just said, We don't want to do it I think it hurt Jessie and I I think it hurt Chris Lloyd's feelings.
He added.
I think Jessie and I maybe felt like they thought of us as the old guys or something like that.
That didn't seem worthy of keeping those characters going.
It felt a little hurtful.
But people make business decisions.
I mean, we can't get involved in that.
