MLB Philadelphia Phillies player Garrett Stubbs is married!

The professional baseball catcher tied the knot with his girlfriend, Evyn Murray, on Dec. 14 at Solaz, a luxury Collection Resort, Los Cabos in Mexico.

"It was exactly what we envisioned from the beginning. A roller coaster of emotions," Murray exclusively tells PEOPLE. "At one point the wedding party was dancing down the aisle, the next we were crying happy tears during vows and then taking shots at the altar with all our guests. It was a romantic fiesta."

The three-day destination wedding celebration kicked off on Dec. 12 with an intimate boat party DJ'd by Caly Music. Everyone wore all white to the "cozy, chic and so much fun" welcome party apart from the bride, who stunned in a head-turning plunging red dress.

A pool party with custom trucker hats, an open bar and appetizers was held the following day. Afterward, rehearsal dinner took place on the beach. Guests enjoyed an Italian meal out of a gorgeous floral airstream, followed by drinks in the space.

"We most looked forward to spending a week with our friends and family to celebrate our love," the bride says. "We both have the most amazing friends and family and were reminded of it all week long. People kept coming up to us to tell us how much they were enjoying their time with everyone. Best compliment in the world."

The "monochromatic, sultry and romantic wedding" — which was planned by Audrey Wood of Audrey Wood Events — was attended by 150 of the couple's closest friends and family. Notable guests include MLB stars and teammates, such as: Matt Chapman, Bradley Zimmer, Mickey Moniak, Jeff Hoffman, Tyler Wade, James Kaprielian, Lars Nootbaar and Nick Castellanos.

The scenic view of the tranquil oceanfront ceremony was complemented by white florals from Aria Vera Floral. "We're still so in awe with how it turned out," Murray says.

Everyone was handed a shot of tequila before they were seated, which they would later all take together during the ceremony. The wedding party then walked down the aisle to their own "walk-out" song, similar to what's done in the MLB.

"Each duo absolutely killed it," Murray shares. "We've never seen that in a ceremony, but we wanted it to be different, upbeat, and really let the people who mean the most to us show who THEY are too. Songs ranged from 'Squabble Up,' 'It's Tricky' (shoutout White Chicks dance), to 'Unwritten.' Our guests had a blast during it too, and we are so glad we did it."

Murray walked down the aisle to "Can't Help Falling in Love" wearing Eva Lendel's "Envy," an off-shoulder satin mermaid dress with long lace sleeves, a sweetheart neckline and a delicately draped corset. Her updo was styled by Ashlee Murray and makeup was done by Lauren Mohr.

"I went to five dress shops in Los Angeles and tried on dozens of dresses, but right when I put this on I started crying," Murray recalls. "I knew it was the one!"

For his part, the groom wore a cream suit with a white dress shirt underneath. The blazer was lined inside with a collage of photographs of Murray and Stubbs together from over the years. He accessorized the look with a gold watch and chain.

It was "really important" to the couple that they exchange personal vows, they share. Before the ceremony, their officiant and mutual best friend, Jake Susman, also asked them to reflect on what ways they've improved each other's weaknesses through their strengths.

"His positivity and ability to just enjoy life no matter the circumstances," Murray answered at the time. "I used to wallow more when shit got hard, but now I try to see the positives and even growth opportunities in it. Life will never be perfect, but your outlook on it is always up to you."

Stubbs answered: "Evyn taught me how to love. Plain and simple. Love isn’t about agreeing with each other all the time or thinking everything is supposed to be perfect. It’s about being there for the other person through highs and lows and knowing the both of you are going to work together to make life better for one another."

The couple were given their tequila shots right after their vows. They also incorporated Jewish traditions into their big day because Stubbs is Jewish. He stomped glass before the ceremony exit and at reception did a "fun" Horah dance with his wife, in which they were lifted in chairs.

"We kept saying we wanted it to feel like a roller coaster of emotions ... one second you're laughing and partying like you never have before, and the next you're emotional, crying happy tears," Murray notes. "A wedding embodies the highest emotion to exist, love — and we wanted everyone to feel that strongly whether that be on the dance floor or sitting at the ceremony."

The "neutral" and "cozy" color palette of the reception followed Pantone's Color of the Year, Mocha Mousse. Elegant draping, sparkling chandeliers and soft candlelight brought sophistication to the seaside setting.

For the reception, the bride changed into a custom one-shoulder dress designed by a local seamstress in Scottsdale, Ariz, who worked with her on the long gown for five months ahead of the big day.

The newlyweds' first dance was to Morgan Wallen's acoustic song "Spin You Around (1/24)."

Guests enjoyed live stations of sushi, ceviche, tacos, steak and sides instead of a plated dinner. They then danced the night away to music spun by DJ Nestor as a man in a mirror costume on stilts walked around.

Now, Stubbs and Murray — who got engaged on Dec. 10, 2023, during a private romantic dinner on a cliff at Chileno Bay — are on their six-day honeymoon, which is taking place in Playa del Carmen for three nights at Hotel Casa de la Playa, followed by three nights at Be Tulum.

They say they hope to start a family together soon.

"Both of us are very family-oriented, so for us, we are both looking forward to starting a family of our own," Murray shares. "We both understand the challenges of raising a family and couldn't be more excited to take on those challenges together."
