Mindy Kaling made a stunning appearance on the red carpet of the 2024 Met Gala on Monday, which celebrated “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion” at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. The actress donned an exquisite gown crafted by Indian designer Gaurav Gupta, aptly named “the melting flower of time.”

The gown captured the essence of the night’s theme, boasting sculptural waves of organza that are meant to resemble blooming flowers, rising dramatically above Kaling’s head and gracefully enveloping her figure in billowing shapes. Subtle crystal beads adorned the gown, adding a touch of extravagance to the ensemble.

A sweeping organza train trailed behind Kaling as she ascended the steps, revealing glimpses of her metallic platforms heels from Piferi peeking from beneath the dress. Opting for simplicity in accessories, she adorned her fingers with a few statement rings also by a fellow Indian designer.

Completing her look with finesse, The “Office” alum styled her voluminous hair in a chic side part, with the ends elegantly curved. Her makeup remained understated yet impactful, with a focus on a bold nude lip and a smoky eye, showcasing her effortless glamour and impeccable taste.

This marks Mindy Kaling’s ninth appearance at the Met Gala, the 44-year-old having previously graced the prestigious event last year. She turned heads in a white, strapless gown adorned with layers of mother-of-pearl, beads, crystals, and sequins designed by Jonathan Simkhai.

This year, the Met Gala celebrates the Costume Institute’s exhibition titled “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion” event and featured an official “Garden of Time” dress code. It unfolded on May 6 under the co-chairmanship of Anna Wintour, Zendaya, Bad Bunny, Jennifer Lopez, and Chris Hemsworth.
