Millie Bobbie Brown's two-word reply to trolls who say she looks 'old'
Millie Bobby Brown has had a busy few years.
Not only has the actress continued to appear in the beloved Netflix show Stranger Things but she also starting working as a film and tv producer, turned 21 (a major milestone!), continued running her makeup and skincare line Florence by Mills, and got married to model and actor Jake Bongiovi!
Yep, that's a lot to pack in, even for a mega celeb.
However, despite all the major wins in her life. Millie has long been plagued by sexist trolling, and criticisms of her appearance.
Recently, the celeb debuted a gorge blonde hair transformation, switching up her signature dark locks for a Pamela Anderson-style blonde look and piecey fringe.
She objectively looks stunning, but online critics have claimed that the 21-year-old looks significantly older than she is, with some saying she looks 35, in her 40s or 50s, or some just saying she looks 'old'.
Firstly, let's get some things straight: beauty exists at any age, there really is no such thing as looking 'old', and supposedly looking a certain age (whether it be looking like you're 30 or 50) should never be an insult. Our looks all change as we get older, it's a fact of life, and trying to shame women for that is just downright sexism.
The shaming of Millie, as someone who has grown up on our screens and matured with age, feels particularly insidious. She's not a child actor anymore, she's a young woman who's just trying to live!
While we'd clearly go to bat for Millie, she doesn't need any protection, swiftly shutting down trolls.
Specifically, she took to her Instagram Story, sharing a screenshot of a British Vogue article titled 'No One Cares How Old You Think Millie Bobby Brown Looks' and adding her own, deliciously simple screen caption; 'thank you.'
We love a two-word shutdown!
Meanwhile, she also revealed her natural, fresh-faced complexion in a video for Florence by Mills. In the video, she appeared makeup-free and talked through her own experience with breakouts and working out her own skincare journey as someone in their early twenties.
Way to shut down the trolls, Millie!
